The Mets are favored in this game. As you can see, there is a positive number listed after the San Francisco Giants and a negative number after the New York Mets. The numbers after each team is indicative of the number of runs they are either spotting their opposing team or getting from the other team. In this sample line found on PokerStars.com, the Mets are spotting or giving the Giants 1.5 runs. Likewise, the Giants are receiving 1.5 runs from the Mets. This means that a bet on the Mets pays out if they defeat the Giants by a margin greater than 1.5 runs. On the other hand, if the Giants win the game outright or lose by less than 1.5 runs, those who have bet on the Giants will win their bet.
